Stewart happy to be a Bear!
Redcar’s newest Aussie import, Jordan Stewart, admits he is delighted to be at Redcar and can’t wait to get his British career started. The young Aussie, who will start with a 5.2 average, has impressed in his native Australia this winter and is looking forward to getting started:
I’m pleased to be at Redcar for this season, it looks like such a great club and awesome track, I have heard from a lot of people that it is a awesome club. My plan for the UK this year is to just enjoy it, it’s my first year so there will be some setting up, getting to know all the tracks and everything else, I’m going to put in 110% this year and hopefully we get the result we want. I’m looking forward to it.
Jordan finished 8th in the Aussie Championships, and 4th in the U21 championships, but whilst these were very creditable results he admits he was slightly disappointed:
This years Aussie titles were tough for me, i felt as I didn’t ride as good as I should have, I just didn’t feel the same on the bike. Last weekend I had the u21 and felt good then, just had some bad luck in the final.
Jordan also spoke well of ex-Bear Hugh Skidmore, who helped put the deal in place:
I’ve spoken a fair bit to Hugh Skidmore, he has helped me a lot. He is a nice guy Hugh and all he wants to do is help people.
