Duffill steps down as team boss for now
There will be one further change to the Redcar Ecco Finishing Bears line up from Thursday. Ex-Bear Jade Mudgway will take over as Team Manager for the foreseeable future with current boss Jitendra Duffill stepping down for now due to ill health. Duffill stated; “I’m not well enough at present to perform my role as team manager effectively so I have no choice but to step down for now. It is not a decision I have made lightly but it would be unfair to carry on whilst I cannot give 100%. It’s heartbreaking for me but it’s the right thing to do as I need to concentrate on my own health.”
Mudgway will not be making his debut for the Bears, as he acted as Team Manager for Redcar on 2 occasions in 2017, winning both meetings. “Jade will do an excellent job for us and he is no stranger to our septet. He is a popular face here at Redcar and of course is already managing the Redcar Cubs side. We have often joked that he has a 100% record as Team Manager for the senior squad so our Bears are in good hands whilst I am away. He is a good friend of mine and I will support him from behind the scenes where needed.” said Duffill.
