Swales: Let’s strike a psychological blow!
Redcar co-promoter Jamie Swales believes it’s vitally important his side strike a psychological blow when they face Scunthorpe tomorrow evening, (19:30 start at the ECCO Arena) in their final Jubilee League clash.
The club boss said, “ It’s really important that we go out there and remind Scunthorpe what they will be up against when they visit in the league. Although we are out of the Jubilee League, Scunthorpe visit us in the league later this month in a vital clash in the race for the play-offs and if we can remind them about our capabilities around the ECCO Arena.”
Swales believes the Bears still have an important part to play in the group despite being out of the running for qualification, “ Despite being out we still have an important part to play in the group. It wouldn’t be fair on Leicester if we didn’t approach the meeting in the same way we would approach any fixture.”
The former rider is also happy with his side’s form despite two recent away defeats for the Bears, “ I’m really happy with our form at the moment, we put in a really battling display at Leicester, (The Bears lost 51-39) and I think if we would have had Erik Riss we would’ve taken a point from that meeting. Justin Sedgemen did a great job as a guest but I think he’ll admit he’s not Erik Riss.”
Redcar are again without the services of Erik Riss who is rehabilitating after his broken leg with the club bringing in Danny King to guest in the German’s place. The remainder of the side remains the same from last week’s two away fixtures at Scunthorpe and Leicester respectively.
Rider replacement will continue to operate for Jake Allen as he still suffers from from his broken scaphoid whilst Adam Roynon returns to the ECCO Arena looking to prove a point after his release from Redcar last month. Scunthorpe bring in ex-Bear Anders Rowe to guest in place of injury victim Zaine Kennedy who is recovering from his horror clash at Scunthorpe last Friday. ,
