Parr: We’re can go to Armadale and win!
Redcar’s interim team manager, Gavin Parr believes the Redcar Bears can go to Armadale, (19:30 tapes up) and win the meeting in the first leg of the KO Cup semi-finals. Parr said, “ We can go there and win the meeting but if we can keep the score within around 6 I fully believe we can turn that around when we have the second leg at home.”
Parr also believes that Redcar may benefit from the rumoured return of Sam Masters from injury, “ A fit Sam Masters is better than anyone around Armadale apart from maybe Erik (Riss). Having Sam Masters potentially racing against us this evening in his first meeting back is not the worst scenario for us at all.”
The club have booked the former Bear Richard Lawson to guest in place of Erik Riss and Parr believes the Poole man is the right man for the job, “ Richard guested at number 1 for Edinburgh last week and scored 12 so I am hoping he comes in at 3 and scores similar for us. If our heat leaders can also keep their good form going alongside Richard I will be very happy!”
Redcar welcome back Jade Mudgway to join Gavin Parr in the co-team manager position before Parr heads off for a week’s holiday of his own!
Redcar are heading into a vital part of their season with KO Cup final qualification and play-off qualification on the line after winning the Championship Pairs at Oxford 7 days ago.
Jordan Jenkins is fit for the Bears ahead of the clash after his late withdrawal at Poole on Wednesday whilst Kyle Newman is hoping to back up his good start to his Bears career after picking up paid 7 on his debut at Poole.
Edinburgh are confident of welcoming back their skipper, Sam Masters who is returning after a broken collarbone after only 3 weeks out of the saddle. Josh Pickering is sure to be a thorn in the side of the Bears with the Australian having an impressive 9.38 average around Armadale.
