Teesside Silver Helmet restaging date
The Teesside Silver Helmet has been rearranged for Monday 28th October at 7.30pm. Many of you will be aware that this date is already reserved for the restaging of the KO Cup Final, if it were to be cancelled on Sunday due to poor weather. The Redcar promotion have been working tirelessly all day, seeking rider, staff and sponsor availability and it has become clear that it is not possible to run any other day.
Promoter Jitendra Duffill explained, “The deadline for all fixtures this year is the 31st October, so the Silver Helmet has to take place before then. I’ve spend hours today trying to reschedule and only Monday is feasible due to unavailability of riders, staff or sponsors on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. I don’t want to cancel what is an important meeting for us, so I’d rather take the risk of running on Monday. Newcastle are aware of our situation and we understand that we will have to cancel the Silver Helmet if we need to be in Newcastle on Monday night. That situation is preferable to simply giving up on and cancelling this event ”
